IUPUI was one of the last colleges I applied to, and that was because I had no intention of actually coming to this school. When I was accepted and weighed out all of my options, I decided this was the best option for me. Bridge week allowed me to experience the school in person, and I met one of my best friends during that time. Now in the semester I'm finally settled in to the school, I'm more comfortable getting around and accustomed to how my classes work. In the beginning I didn't really know how to deal with the big change from high school to college, especially when it came to managing my time properly with all the free time I have now. I wasn't able to balance school, work, and social life too well in the beginning, but I've learned how to now.

A weakness I have is staying focused and not falling behind. I tend to procrastinate, leaving homework and studying until the last minute. I always catch back up, but I've learned it's a lot better to do things in the moment than leaving them for later. One of my strengths is my motivation. Once I have the motivation to do something, it'll get done. I've recently been motivated to start making more money, so I've been at work more often.

One big lesson I've learned this semester is that you have to prioritize school over other things in life sometimes, even if you might not want to. This can help me in the future because I've already realized that just because you might not want to do one thing over another doesn't that's the best option. For next semester, the advice I want to give myself is to apply myself more in classes and studying. To stay on top of it.
